Install Woobly on Ubuntu 13.04 Desktop

Friday, April 26, 2013

Woobly is one of compiz config dekstop effects on ubuntu. About a few weeks ago I have installed woobly on my ubuntu 13.04s laptop which used SiS graphic card on its VGA. I didn't notice when enabled woobly at that time. I opened up terminal and typing compiz --help, then I opened up the dconf editor and make some changes on there. ;)
Now, at this time I just enabled woobly again on my laptop with other specs because of my old one was broken. In this case, today the exactly I say for this day, I installed woobly with ATI Radeon express graphic on its VGA, this is for details
isa@isa-Aspire-5050:~$ lspci -nn | grep VGA
01:05.0 VGA compatible controller [0300]: Advanced Micro Devices [AMD] nee ATI RS482M [Mobility Radeon Xpress 200] [1002:5975]

How do I installed woobly there?

Simple, the first I install compizconfig settings manager through synaptic, I opened compiz config and look there. Then "Damn" is the first word at the time, buts no problem, stay relax is important for this time, I remember when looking around about effect which enabled with cairo-dock or other I forget. I look at synaptic again then I typed compiz and found OpenGL window and compositing manager - default plugins. I gave check on it and I click apply. But the problem is not over, I couldn't gave the check-mark over woobly on effects tab, I try to open compiz config settings manager by typing
isa@isa-Aspire-5050:~$ sudo ccsm
but no effect also no changes after that, then I bring back to default again and open compiz as usual Applications > System Tools > Preference > Compizconfig Settings Manager
When the window of CCSM opened, I click preferences then I click the plugin list on disabled plugins table I look for woobly I click right arrows and look woobly on the side table called by enabled plugins.
I move the window, and I got woobly effect on my ubuntu desktop. :)
